Rubber Gloves Save Lives

Well, they do... Not only do they save manicures, but they help prevent the spread of disease (hospitals). Remember to keep your eyes peeled for more new HNT (Healthy Nail Tips).

So you just got that fresh manicure with some crazy ass nail art and serious bling. You can't let it get chipped or lose a precious Swarovski doing something so unglam like scrubbing dirty dishes and cleaning toilets.

What do you do to protect your glitzy digitz? How about when you're rocking au natural?

Often times it isn't until we get that amazing manicure that we think to put our rubber gloves on. But it's not the polish and jewels that needs protection. Yes the gloves do help prevent chipping and wear and tear, but our goal is really to have healthy nails and skin. Our skin and nails need to be protected in order to avoid the harmful and sometimes lasting effects of continued and prolonged exposure to detergents.

Detergent Drain

All those soaps and detergents really do a number on your nails and hands with or without an amazing manicure. Detergents can compromise the integrity of your nail and can actually break it down. This can lead to dry brittle and peeling nails. They can also lead to skin irritation and the development of skin allergies. If you alredy suffer from skin allegies caused by prolonged exposure then I'm preaching to the chior and you already know what you've got to do. If you have dry peeling and brittle nails sign up for my newsletter HERE and receive a free PDF download of my Home Remedies to Grow Sexy Long Nails. These remedies really work and with consistancy you can reverse the damage caused by overexposure to detergents.

And of course you can find less harmful more environmentally friendly cleaners like Norwex Paste. I started using Norwex products to go chemical free in my house. I absolutely love their antimicrobial cloths and mops that clean with just water! That's right no more chemicals. They are a bit pricey to start, but when you think about all the money you spend on chemicals and other products that just don't last not to mention their environmental cost, Norwex is by far a better choice. I have never used another product that works as well.

So when should you wear gloves? Anytime you stick your hands in water with a detergent. Washing dishes is the prime example, but also when your hand washing that delicate silk blouse, washing walls and even windows and mirrors. What windows and mirrors, but I'm only spritzing the mirror, I'm not dunking my hand in a bucket. Well the cloth you are using to wipe that mirror off definately has cleaner on it and guess what your holding it in your hand.

There is no point in putting your hands through hell on the reg, when all you need to do is rubberize. You can find super cute rubber gloves here or DIY your own.

Do you remember to wear your rubber gloves? Tell me about how you protect your nails when choring. Let me know in the comments and don't forget to share this with your friends.

Ciao for now,
